@hmorgan428 that and drain the battery then do a full charge 4-5 times it did wonders for me

its extremely simple to improve your battery life (trust me i sell them) turn the GPS off when not in use.
I like advanced task killer as my app shutdown program. whenever your done, open advanced task killer and shut down everything. It also lets you choose apps to leave running (like i have handcent sms running for custom ring/text tones)
I just picked up the droid yesterday and it is amazing. Went from the Voyager to the Droid and its quite the difference. I was even happier I didn’t have to spend 300+ dollars.
