oh,.. even my n78 cant turn off the sound also he flash, it will still blink when i turn it off in the flash settings, well,.. nokia is some what following a law preventing taking pictures and videos of the person unaware. but did you find some technical problems with your unit, im planning to sell my n78 to have n79 though,,.. so im getting some information to you.. hope its ok…?^^
now, i dun like the camera.. the color is not accurate, bad flash and led and cannot off the sound.

regarding the ability to lock using the traditional way, it is only possible if the phone is at the main screen. The lock on the top of the phone on the other hand can be used to lock the phone regardless of any application that is being opened.
no. it goes with the white version of the phone. but i do want a blue one too
