Q&A: About how much does it cost to repair a water-damaged cell phone?
Question by :]: About how much does it cost to repair a water-damaged cell phone?
I ACCIDENTLY washed my cell phone in the washer and I was hanging it out to dry. About 2 hours later I realized my phone was in my jeans pocket...well I took it out and well it didn't help. I kept it from my parents for less then a week and then I told them that it fell in the sink while the water was going. Then my dad just messed around with it and it worked! Before that it would turn on and that was just about it. Well just a day ago it was working fine except that a full battery was only working for a day. Well now I'm back to where I started, with it turning on but not WORKING. Well, I just told you this whole story about my phone when all I needed answered is how much it costs to have my phone repaired...
So..How much does it cost to have a water-damaged phone repaired?

More than the phone is worth. It is also not insured if it was dropped in water. You are better off buying a new phone.

Honestly, I dont think you will be able to get it fixed… If you are able to, then it would probably cost the same as buying another one….
I’d say somwhere around Rs.2000……..
hav no exact idea thou….
In my experience, water damaged phones arent worth repairing. Especially after 2 hours submerged.
I have repaired phones that have been dropped in a puddle, or been splashed, but 2 hours it would be cactus.
The problem is that the water corrodes all the circuits, stuffs the battery and starts to rust the PCB, even a short exposure to water can ruin your phone.
Probably best off to buy a new phone.
My first suggestion is to replace the battery then try to on. If the problem still persist, you have to show the mobile for repair. The person who will look after for your problem, will tell you the actual cost of repair….
