Q&A: Has anyone ever had a cell phone repaired?

Question by Dee: Has anyone ever had a cell phone repaired?
I have a Motorola V300 flip style phone. Everything works perfect on it EXCEPT my husband dropped it and now the only way I can hear people I'm speaking with is with speakerphone or with the earset. Otherwise, trying to listen the normal way, sometimes I can hear the person real faint, or if the conversation starts off okay, if I move the phone a little, then I can't hear them.

So, I'm wondering if anyone has ever had any luck taking a cell phone to a repair shop where other electronics are repaired and for a reasonable price?
I'm in the United States.

Yup, I've had my cellphone repaired. I have a Samsung E630 and one day the LCD screen just came up blank. I took it to the official Samsung repair center and they just changed a cable. Reasonable price for parts and labor considering that I didn't have to buy a new phone.

I don't know which country you're from but I suggest that you go to a repair shop that specializes in repairing telecoms. I'm from the Philippines and you can find one of those in nearly every corner so it's not a problem for me. Hope you can find a service center for cellphones nearby!

  1. I had a friend who fried her phone by dropping it in the toilet and then using a blow dryer to dry it off. It would freeze up or wouldn’t even work half the time. Turns out after taking it a cell phone place the guy who fixed said it was a circuit card that got fried. He replaced it and it was fine after.

Just take it to any cell phone store even if it isn’t one of your service providers store. They’ll know what to do.
