Cracked and Damaged LCD Repair

The replacement LCD screen that I purchased was the LCD screen ONLY – it did not have the front housing assembly. The good news is that I did not need to perform any soldering. The bad news is that the pcb part of the front assembly is GLUED to the back of the LCD screen. Skip steps 23-28. After disconnecting the flex cables on the top & bottom of the pcb, pry out the entire unit taking care not to break or crimp the remaining cables. Use a thin flexible knife blade to separate the pcb from the lcd. Try to keep the sticky insulating tape on the pcb. Once unglued, re-attach the LCD to the pcb and place back into plastic frame. Be sure to test the buttons at this point to verify that you’ve seated the switches properly. You can now continue with step 29.

Actually, my phone works better now than it did when new.
