What good power supply do i need for my computer?

Question by me Kruger: What good power supply do i need for my computer?
I have an Asus m2n-e sli, Athlon x2 3800+, gainward 8600 gt Golden Sample, 1Gb DDR2 800 MHz Geil, 160 Gb Maxtor P-ata, Lg-DVDRW with Lightscribe, Sony 1.44 fdd, and two 120 mm case fans. I have a 500W no-name power supply and i think it does not put out the required power for this sistem, because it crashes when the 8600 gt is in full load.

That powersupply should do the trick, sounds like you have a bad PSU, crumbling under load.

Suggestion get a new PSU.

I suggest a 600w Ultra SLI Powersupply, you can get one at Tigerdirect. Same kind I have in my rig.

I have 2 graphics cards, 1 FX-62 Dual core 125w CPU, CROSSHAIR Motherboard, a TON of Fans (over 10 high amped fans) and it works perfectly. Lifetime warranty also.

  1. Hi, I would recommend Corsair or Hiper PSU’s. I use an Antec 500W SmartPower and I’m running an Athlon X2 5200+, 7950GT superclocked, 2 gigs of ddr2 800 just fine. Let me just say that you really don’t want to skimp out on the PSU. My last one failed after under a year and that was a 500W Rosewill
